Recently, I was introduced to a sharing my Tony Hsieh (CEO of Zappos.com) about growing your company. And he shared an interesting idea of the different kind of employees in this world and it suddenly creates a realization in me. He shared about there are basically 3 types of staff you will encounter.
Type 1 – Work: Someone who see job as work because he/she needs to work for a living.
Type 2 – Career: Someone who wants to achieve something in his/her work. He/she will view job as a career.
Type 3 – Calling: The best staff you can have in your organization! He/she views his/her job as a calling to some greater purpose. Just like what he mentioned in his speech, he felt strongly the need to deliver the best customer service to the world… in another form happiness to the world with Zappos!
In the case of study or learning, I created 3 Types too! 
Type 1 – Study: One who was forced to study because he/she has to based on society norm and must!
Type 2 – Pride: One who took pride to ensure he/she do very well and score! Achieving success in academic is very important to him/her.
Type 3 – Grow: Going beyond the state of just pride or achievement, this group of people understands the purpose in life is to learn proactively so that he/she can grow as a human. I had met many successful people and they are still attending course, meeting people and learning everyday! It is really simple when you know why you want to learn and grow! I strongly believe in the power of growing and living life!
