The story about the hare and the tortoise is one that was told since we were very small. And the moral of the story was said to be “Slow and Steady wins the race!”. Recently I challenged a student who had exactly such a mindset in terms of learning Math. He believes that he needs to take it slow in terms of internalising the Math concepts, but more often than not, he ends up grasping for breath in terms of catching up with the pace in school. As a result, his confidence in Math drops by the day and he starts to disbelieve his potential to score A1.
Are you having similar thoughts and challenges like him?
What if you challenge yourself today by asking “What can I do to be FAST and STEADY?” or “What Can I do to learn this in a shorter time?”
There are always faster ways of doing things. Every Olympic Game, we are always breaking records. We run faster, swim faster…
Start asking what you can do to be fast and steady today!
