Self Improvement vs Self Discovery

“The journey of life is not about improving oneself, it’s about rememebering oneself” – The Saint, The Surfer and the CEO.

Now, that’s what I call a paradigm shift!

See, when we talk about self improvement, it seems like one needs to improve upon what one already is. This suggests that something is lacking and makes one feel more guilty than he/she already does (for not being good enough).

On the other hand, just a change of perspective from “improvement” to “discovery”, one changes the context. In “discovery”, one recognises the goodness/perfection in one and work towards uncovering this natural greatness (that already exists!).

This reminds me the Power of Words :) By using a different word, we can create a shift in our thinking and allows the space to explore (instead of limiting) the potential bestowed upon us :)

Happy discovery!
