Q1. How can I improve my child’s results to A*? She/He did assessment books, read guide books, practice a lot, go for tuitions, and yet don’t see the results…

ANS: Getting an A* require precision revision and not generalized learning.

3 things that your child can do to excel in PSLE Science;

1)      Master key concepts by CREATING his/her OWN notes. (can be in the form of point form, concept maps, mind maps or writings) There are 2 ways to achieve that.

Ø  Read up all guide books and teachers’ notes and tuitions’ notes to compile into OWN notes

Ø  Model expertise’s notes (This is faster, however not effective for long-term learning mindset)

2)      PROVE the EFFECTIVENESS of the notes by doing questions topic by topic from a lot of sources. (99% of students study their notes without proving that it works)

3)      Master Answering Techniques and Application of key phrases (search for expertise who are very good in concepts to impart the know-how to key phrases on individual topics)

Q2. How can I motivate my child to aim higher and DO more?

ANS: STEP-BY-STEP (build momentum)

        A lot of times I encountered parents who are too eager to push their child to see results and the children are reluctant to change. Reason is because there is a mismatch of EXPECTATIONS. You have to stretch your child bits by bits with RESULTS. They need to see their first improvement to be motivated.

        2 things you can do to build their momentum;

1)      Make them see their 1^st improvement in the results. (whatever it takes!!)

2)      Give them lavish appreciation to make them inspired to go to the next level. (remember to stretch them step by step!!)

Q3. How do I create urgency in them?

ANS: Gain Clarity in life

Decision-making needs to start as young as possible. The more decision they made, the more responsible they are, and the more they want to be clear in life.

Q4. Lack of time to assist my child’s learning

ANS: Send them to a good learning environment that focus on FUN and RESULTS!
