Most of my Sec 2 students have done well this year end.
Scoring As, 2 to 3 grades jump.
However, some of them did not get into the stream they want.
Why?! Coz they didnt do well for the first half of the academic year.
Apparently they were disappointed.
It is funny how most human works.
Though I have repeatedly tell them throughout the year(for those who have joined me since the start of the year) that this is a critical year. They have to put in justifiable amount of effort and time into their studies to get into the stream they want.
Well.. no point crying over split milk.
Lately we started a tracking system among my focus group.
We will have goal settings everyweek. Failure to complete a task is subjected to a hefty fine of $100 per task.
Wow~ No joke man. It has been going on for 2 weeks and it really whip us hard to ensure we finish the task on hand by hook or crook. Few hundred dollars at stake. No joke!
Why do human has to feel the PAIN before we can push ourselves to move forward?
How many times can we afford to fail in life before we can learn our lesson?
Going forward in the new academic year, we will be introducing a new system to ensure student feel the pain ALONG THE WAY not at the end.
