Gratitude and Dream…

I haven’t been blogging awhile so I am gonna make up for it by having a long post. =)

Gratitude is one of Advo’s value and coincidentally it is one of mine too!
I am glad my parents inculcate this value in me since young.
These days when I interact with people around me… I realised something…
Those people who are unhappy about their lives apparently does not embrace gratitude.
They rant on and on… Looking back at my life, its more or less the same as them.
What they have I might not have but what they don’t have I might not necessary have it.
Yet I am proud to say I am happier than them.
I always tell them to be happy about what they have and not be unhappy about what they dont have.
If they gona stick to the latter view, they can never find happiness.
Coz human has never ending desire.
Having said this, I am not advocating a person to stay content with status quo.
Dreams has to be pursued (which I will discuss about that later).

There are many things which people take for granted. For instance, I feel blessed when
- I smell my towels and my clothes after bathing coz I have such nice n crisp cloth to wear and towel to use.
- I get to eat a pipping hot meal prepared by my mum at the end of the day.

Bottomline, be grateful for what you have, say thanks, be nice to people around you, make more friends than foes. We live in a community, we need friends.  =)

A little episode to share…
That day we were sourcing for vendors for event organisation.
I made a comment about a company that only help out for big scale event… “We will look for them if we hold major events next time. This time round, lets stick to XXX company.”
THE GAME heard what I said and told me “Even if we are holding major events in future, we should stick to XXX company. Or even use the Advo platform to assist XXX company become capable of handling big scale events.”
The words did hit me. It suddenly reminded me of gratitude even in this sense.

Next on the agenda is DREAMS. This year as I was chatting with my friends, I started to ask them
(1) What are the 10 most memorable events in 2009
(2) What are the 10 things you would like to achieve in 2010
(3) If given a choice, what would you want your life to be like.

We did this with our students.
Surprise! Surprise! Be it young or old, many people actually said NO, they can’t list 10 or worst there is non.
I met some people who have dreams… but not the guts to pursue.

I talk about dreamboard, their first reaction is what is that?

I showed them my dreamboard, they were inspired by mine.
They started working something along the line for themselves.
I am happy!

Many students or even adults live a day-to-day life aimlessly…
I was one of them. Until I see the big picture of what kind of life I want to lead..
The last lecture was an inspiration as well. How he fulfill his dreams one by one.

At Advo, we show students the meaning/purpose behind studying and exams/tests.
One thing that school didnt bring out to the students strongly is the value behind whatever they are doing.

Dare to dream, live your dream. Start today, plan & action now! ^^
