Its a long time since I share a story… there you go!
Long long time ago in the southern part of China, there lives a wise monk! Like any folk story, the setting is familiar to both you and me right?
One day, a young man wanted to pay a visit to this wise monk to seek some advice on moving ahead in his life. When he reached the temple and walked towards the entrance of the temple, a fierce giant dog suddenly jumped out from no where and started to dash towards him. On seeing this, he was stunted motionlessly and was about to turn to run away…
Just at the same instance, a old monk saw this and started to dash very quickly in the direction of the giant dog in a calm and confident manner. Upon seeing that, the giant and fierce dog suddenly stopped and in the next moment, ran away from the monk.
After the young man settled down, he asked the monk why he was not afraid of the fierce giant dog and even rushed towards it even though the dog was advancing with such terror.
The monk patiently explained… “Just like fear, when you saw the dog, a fear was created in you… so when you ran away from the dog, the fear grew larger… and the faster you want to escape. The dog (fear) will keep chasing you until you face it, which I did and not just face it but advanced bravely towards it only then the dog (fear) would go and disappear!” The young man is enlightened!
How interesting is life?
The more you fear, the more you run away from where you want to go… the more you advance, the less the fear and in just an instance you knew you had grown!
