Last year we went to Bangkok, Thailand for our retreat and I took the following picture.
It’s an image of a Space Invader from the videogame of the same name. At the time I thought it was really strange that there would be such a geeky thing, in a small alley in Bangkok.
Today I discovered the reason for it. This guy has gone around the world, putting up small images of Space Invaders, and one of the cities he visited is Bangkok. Here is the picture that he took of his work:
See! It’s the same thing, only from a different angle.
I was really surprised when I found out. And then I was really glad I took a picture of it. At least now I can say that I’ve seen one of his works in person.
Look through the rest of the gallery here and look at where he hides his art. I guess it’s all hidden away so that people can be encouraged to DISCOVER more about their surroundings and get a surprise! Actually, if you go through the gallery, you have to click on the Space Invader to navigate to the next page, so it’s also a “Spot the Space Invader” mini-game.
