Yesterday I had a birthday party. Today I came to work with a bandage on my palm. This is the story of how it happened.
I ordered an ice-cream cake from Ben and Jerry’s, because I’ve never had ice-cream cake for my birthday. To prevent it from melting during the party, I put it in the freezer. When I took it out for the cake-cutting, it was frozen solid. Particles vibrating in fixed position, etc. Cutting it with a knife didn’t help much, so we decided to increase the kinetic energy of the ice-cream particles by using the lighter to heat the knife blade.
It still didn’t cut very well, and here is where I made my mistake. I used my hand to push the blade of the knife down, forgetting in my haste that it was heated.
Now I have a straight blister on my palm.
The moral of the story is, anticipate your next move, study Physics to understand leverage, don’t be hasty and finally, when all else fails, pain is also a learning strategy. Don’t worry la, I’m not scarred for life.
