Accummulation or Decummulation – Time to review!

Are u AWARE of what you are doing?
Are u conscious of the way you are learning?

Through my years of coaching and guiding students, I notice a trend among some students who keep doing the same things over and over again expecting their results to improve. Like what Albert Einstein said, this is INSANITY… in Singapore term, it’s called “SIAO! (or mad)”

Allow me to quote an example:
When exams are near, these group of students will open their files, dig out their textbooks or notes and start to revise all over again. They will read the textbook, look through the files, run through all the notes.

For students, personally, I didn’t feel it was a very good way of learning because there was no accumulation. I want you to think about that for a moment. No accumulation. You want for your knowledge to accumulate. In other words, learning today should be easier than learning it yesterday. And learning this week should be easier than learning last week. And learning this year should be much easier than learning last year. You want to be accumulating your learning ability and knowledge so that you will not need to keep repeating the same learning.

However, most students in their learning are experiencing the opposite, true or false? It is getting harder to learn than it used to be. That is a problem, because you are not experiencing accumulation. You are experiencing “decumulation,” where the learning you are creating is going down. You want to be creating learning systems that help you accumulate your learning ability and knowledge. Those learning systems create sustainable value, because the learning system itself is valuable.

So if you have created your learning system, it continues to function, even if you are not using for a long time. Think about it! Do you know how to add, minus and multiply or divide? Of course! Why? Simply, because you have created a learning system to do this without much effort for learning…

In fact, society gives the biggest rewards to those students who are able to create powerful learning systems and structures that create results in the shortest possible time. That’s what the A and A1 students are doing everyday. Making learning easier! Are you one of them? If you are not, you must be working towards that now!

Time for reflection for those who had not done well for your mid year exams! And for those who had done well, please continue to create and accummulate your learning systems so that they will continue to assist you in getting your desired results!
